The yard and marina are located in Kungsviken – the Bay of Kings. Johannes Olsson started the company 1939 – and built wooden yachts. Bo and his brother Orvar Olsson, sons of Johannes took over the business 1963 and built their first GRP Malö Yachts 1969. Lars and Bengt Olsson, sons of Bo assumed the responsibilty 1984 of Malö Yachts and run the company until 2008 when Bob Erixon bought the yard.

Malö Yachts is now a member of a group of strong companies such as Erixon Yachts, HP 10.30, Techno Yachts and Farr Cruising Yachts in Lysekil. The group currently has approximately 100 employees and a stable production of sailing boats of high quality. Bob himself is a inveterate sailor and likes to compete in competitions such as the Gotland Runt, which he won in 1999.
Today the past is the yards heritage
– to build the finest crafts for the discerning sailor.

The Malö Yachts work force consists of a small team of dedicated, highly professional boat builders. Mårten Karlsson, one of our employees, has more than forty years experience dating back to the time when boats were only built in wood.

Malö Yachts are one of Scandinavia’s oldest, most experienced yacht builders. We might not be the biggest yard, but we have always maintained a team of excellent boat builders who have a fundamental understanding of sailing.

The Malö Yachts have a higher standard of construction and is more expensively built than most comparable boats. Our raw materials – GRP, teak and mahogany are the finest the market offers. Our fittings bear the world’s best manufacturers labels and our production quality, design and engineering exceed all current classification requirements.

Our Swedish home island of Orust is steeped in the timeless tradition of boat building and Malö Yachts has been producing fine craft for generations. It is this heritage which makes us strive to build the best cruising yachts for the discerning yachtsman.
